Fall is arriving in the Cascades! 🍁🏔️

We hiked Cave Ridge on Wednesday and caught the very beginning of the autumn colors. Brilliant reds and golds are starting to appear among the evergreens, with beautiful mountain views and Mt. Rainier in the distance.

Blue skies, rugged peaks, colorful alpine meadows—and even a little cave exploring along the way!

One of my favorite times of year to be in the mountains. The colors are just getting started. 🍂

🇯🇵 カスケード山脈にも秋がやってきました！🍁

水曜日はワシントン州のCave Ridgeへ。山ではちょうど紅葉が始まったところで、赤や黄色に色づき始めた山肌と青空のコントラストがとてもきれいでした。

遠くにはレーニア山も！🏔️
これからますます秋色に染まっていきそうです。

We stopped by Tres, a Japanese sandwich shop, and came home with quite a selection! 😋 It’s always fun to find a little piece of Japan close to home.

A spectacular hike along Ptarmigan Ridge with beautiful views of both Mt. Shuksan and Mt. Baker. We continued all the way toward the Portals, getting close to Mt. Baker and its glaciers. The scenery became more dramatic as we approached the mountain, with incredible alpine views in every direction. Definitely one of my favorite hikes in the Mt. Baker area!
