Human trafficking happens in many places, and when traffickers want to move their victims they use all modes of transit. We are committed to doing all we can to counter commercial s*xual exploitation and forced labor, so all Clipper crew who work on our Seattle-Victoria route have completed the "Ports to Freedom" training developed by Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking (BEST) and sponsored by Port of Seattle. Our crew are now equipped to recognize indicators of labor and s*x trafficking and report potential instances safely and effectively.

In addition, passengers sailing between Seattle and Victoria may notice new signs in the boat's restrooms, with the messages "You Are Not Alone" and "There is a Way Out". Trafficking survivors helped design these signs to connect victims of human trafficking with the help they need-- and we are glad to display them. Although we may never know who finds a path to freedom through these signs on our boat, we hope they help guide victims to safety.
