Tamped on Squid with Zero Puck Prep. Anyone can pull delicious espresso shots now with no special espresso knowledge. If you can grind fresh espresso beans and you have an espresso machine you’re ready to go. We’ve tested Squid with every portafilter we could get our hands on. 58mm, 54mm, 51mm, 49mm. If your size is missing they’re easy to make molds for. We’re testing out the dose. We’re testing Squid with all kinds of different espresso baskets. All kinds of different grinders. Ultimately we’ve learned that distribution is the key that’s missing for a perfect shot of espresso. That’s what Squid was for from the beginning ”How do we distribute the espresso bed faster and evenly, but without mixing the coffee, because we’re doing layered shots?” This drove me to build and test 7 or 8 Duct Taped distributor tools made with foam and milk cartons. I liked milk cartons because of the square base, I needed to find an elementary form to put the tool inside to make it look like a product. This tool worked the very first time I tried it. That was the AHA! Light 💡 bulb moment. I thought it would take ages to make it work. Nope it worked the very first time. My partner asked me “Did you Tamp on it?” Why would I tamp on the distributor? Well ever since we’ve been tamping on Squid and I can tell you there’s no going back. No more 5 pound bags of coffee to dial it in. We’re dialed in in 3 shots because the distribution is perfect everytime. There’s no second guessing your puck prep routine. Either grind finer/coarser or use more/less coffee next time. Previously when you have a 7 or 8 step puck prep routine you start second guessing each step. Did I do this? Did I do that? Never again. You don’t have to worry about that ever again. Let’s get back to making delicious coffee not sweating the prep routine. So far the Solar Installer has Tamped on Squid. The Propane delivery guy has Tamped on Squid. If you can press a button and open a door k**b the. You can tamp on Squid. 🦑☕️🤙
