Job Summary
Octopus Movers is looking for a motivated and dependable Mover who wants to grow with our company long-term.
This is an entry-level position with opportunities to advance based on reliability, performance, and experience. The right candidate can progress from mover/helper to driving our 26-foot moving trucks and eventually becoming a crew leader.
Moving experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train someone who is hardworking, professional, and ready to learn.
Responsibilities
- Safely pack, wrap, load, transport, and unload customers’ belongings
- Protect furniture and property from damage
- Use hand trucks, four-wheel dollies, moving pads, plastic wrap, and other equipment
- Assist with furniture disassembly and reassembly
- Follow safe lifting and moving practices
- Keep the truck and moving equipment clean and organized
- Communicate respectfully with customers and crew members
- Follow instructions from the driver and crew leader
- Arrive on time and ready to work
- Assist with driving responsibilities after receiving proper training and approval
Requirements
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Interested in working with the company long-term
- Able to lift and carry heavy furniture and boxes safely
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
- Professional and respectful around customers and their property
- Flexible availability based on scheduled moving jobs
- Moving, delivery, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record are preferred for advancement into a driver position
- Must follow all company safety procedures

Pay: $22–$30 per hour
Starting movers earn $22 per hour. Pay increases with experience and responsibilities, with opportunities to earn up to $30 per hour as a moving-truck driver or crew leader.
