We are looking for deck hands aboard our Rockland based pilot boat. Work is sporadic and can be at any hour of the day. Trip length is generally less than 2.5 hours and the pay is good. If you are looking for some time on a commercial boat in a unique industry that most people never get to see, send us a message or call 207-548-1077

17 Carnival ships at anchor off Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas yesterday. The vessels are consolidating healthy crew members, by nationality, aboard different vessels. Those vessels will likely depart soon to finally get those crew members home.

Not a bad ship, could have used a little heat in the wheelhouse and the pilot ladder needs to be changed out. New Pilot boat is great though.

Pilots getting off a light bulk ship at the pilot station. The vessel had just discharged 52,000 tons of road salt in Searsport, Maine

Sunny Royal bringing in 52,500 tons of road salt from Egypt to Searsport. Tried out the upper boarding platform from the new pilot boat. It makes the climb a lot shorter.

A different day a different job. This time exporting modules for a refinery project outside of Pittsburgh.

Beautiful fall day to bring a tanker into Bucksport. The ship is 600' by 105' with a draft of 29.5'. Air draft was 134', plenty of clearance going under the bridge. She had all ready discharged part of her cargo in Boston, and was dropping off 100,000 barrels of jet in Bucksport before going back to Boston to discharge the balance of the cargo. The Captain Arthur Fournier on the bow has 40 tons of bollard pull and Fournier Boys on the stern (the newest tug in the port) has 60 tons bollard pull.

Boarding a small asphalt tanker bound for Searsport. Managed to get aboard before the squall hit. Liquid asphalt is carried at about 350 degrees fahrenheit so that it can be pumped.
