I started this website to sell fleece blankets to anyone who would like one. I named my page Maine-iac Fleece because I am a Maine-iac (born, raised, and still live in Maine). Therefore, my blankets are homemade right here in Maine.
I started making blankets in 2011 with Project Linus while I was attending Eastern Maine Community College and loved it. Project Linus is an organization that makes fleece blankets and takes them to locations, such as hospitals, and gives them away to children who have undergone some type of trauma like a fire. They will also take blankets that other people have made and donated to the cause.
Maine-iac Fleece blankets are entirely homemade, made upon order, machine washable and “wicked warm and cozy." I have made several since then, and given them to the children in my church as well as my family members. I enjoy making them and want to make more for anyone who would like one.
I do not make blankets ahead of time, so you will be able to customize your own. However, I will try to always have pictures posted of some that I have pre-made and for sale at all times. There is fleece for practically anything you can imagine; I have some ideas listed on the 'available patterns' page of this website. You will have to give me a week to complete your blanket before I can ship it, but you will receive a shipping email when it is completed. I will also email you if I am going to need more time to complete your blanket.
