Chief Express Your leading truckload carrier since 1995! Cargo & Freight Company

05/06/2026

So let me get this straight…

Freight rates are garbage.
Brokers are still pushing cheap loads.
Fuel, insurance, and repairs are through the roof.

And now the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration wants to raise UCR fees by 20%?

You’ve got to be kidding.

Small carriers and owner-operators are already hanging by a thread right now. Some are shutting down, others are running loads just to stay afloat—and instead of fixing the broken rate system, they’re adding MORE costs?

This is exactly how you push hardworking carriers out of the industry.

Enough is enough.

If you’re a driver, owner-op, or fleet owner, don’t just scroll past this—GO COMMENT on this proposal. Speak up while you still can. If we stay quiet, they’ll take it as approval.

We keep this country moving. It’s time to start acting like it.

Thank You!!! ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 Thank You Seagrove and surrounding communities!

Just want to give you an update!

There is so much bad information floating around the internet right now but hopefully I can clarify a few things about what’s going on up there as we were in the midst of it.

To start, I worked with the Disaster Coordinator for Avery County all week scheduling and coordinating this delivery. We did not start loading a truck and then drive up in hopes of finding somewhere to deliver. We HAD a plan.

However, our plan got changed in the middle of the night before we left and we were not informed until we arrived.

On our way up, we were informed that the church that we were delivering to was full. We were rerouted to a warehouse, not too far from the church. We got backed into a dock, started unloading the truck and then we’re informed that they could not take those supplies there. They wanted us to reroute to another facility about 10 miles away. On our way there. We got word that FEMA was involved with that facility. Now, I don’t know the truth about FEMA because I have never worked with them personally, but I have heard the nightmares online. Of course I was hesitant to unload the truck there for fear of the supplies, not getting to the immediate needs of the people in Avery county. So I did what I thought was best and stopped the truck.🛑

After a little bit, we were then rerouted to another facility where we were assured that the guy that ran this place would rather keep his facility, armed and supplies away from the feds or anyone that may not have good intentions .
After about an hour of waiting there, they realize that our supplies would be better off at the original warehouse so down the road we went. The two facilities were in partnership, and we were assured that our supplies would be distributed to the correct people.
Our truck was finally unloaded around 3 PM and later that day, I personally saw a lot of supplies going right back out the door to people in need.

After we got the truck situated, we were able to unload our UTVs and takeoff down the road to assist where needed. We partnered with a small church that had shut ins and elderly, and they were giving out addresses and assigning people for us to check on. Again, more proof that supplies are going to the people in need right there close by. The church is there are very willing to give the supplies to UTV volunteers to take out amongst the people.

From that church, we were informed that there were armed looters on certain streets and to be very careful. There were rumors of guys in blue from up north (NYPD) but I can’t say that we did see some guys that may have looked like they could be from there in official looking vehicles, but I did not see that logo on them so I cannot confirm or deny, but from local accounts, the looters are spreading that way. because of this, I’m not going to tag specific addresses.

We also got to see an amazing sight! The helicopter 🚁 that we watched land was rumored to be the one that was loaded with Starlink from Elon Musk!

There are so many people to say thank you to up there that I don’t know where to start and I hope I don’t forget anyone, but there are truly good people to help.

So THANK YOU…
