Storm haul rates are in effect. We’re closed Sunday, hope to be back Monday. If you want to be hauled out, give us a call!
MAJOR FLOODING ON THE TABLE?
If the EURO verfies with its idea of a slow-moving retrograding low on Monday, yes. I think the possibility is absolutely on the table. I am very cautious when it comes to flooding. Never want to sound the alarm bell, but also never want to downplay a situation because of how much damage the water can cause. It's a fine line.
I will always err on the side of caution. Personally I feel as though this is a solid MODERATE flood event with the POTENTIAL to get to major. What would I do? PREPARE for Major and hope for less. I've seen these things go both ways over the years. 9 times out of 10 the heights are adjusted DOWNWARD as we get closer to the actual event so I'm hoping that's the case here...but I also don't want anyone caught off guard.
I think worst case scenario is 2' of water in the streets in the back bay areas. My forecast? 12-18". Time will tell. We will see if we get any consensus on this idea that that storm backs up towards the coast on Monday as the EURO depicts.
Concerning high tides are circled on each one of the flood forecasts from NOAA. High tide on Sunday PM is around 2pm on the back bays. IF the Euro is right, there will be stacking and MONDAY'S high tide could be the worst one.
At the very least if you're in flood prone areas, I'd make a plan to get my car to higher ground. I think you're safe to hold off on any other preparations until tonight or tomorrow morning as we await more data coming in to really sure up expectations.
Stay tuned!
