Colossians 2:5 For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.
Colossians 2:6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him,
Colossians 2:7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.
A life grounded in Christ will stand firm in the faith and the teachings of our Lord and Savior while the winds of the world blow over them. It is important to stand strong in the storm, for the like the fertile soil of the valley, the false promises of the world may seem an easy life, but when the waters get too deep ye will seek the high ground. It is better to never leave it, than find yourself at the bottom, too late to get back.
