Before you know it, the REAL ID Act will go into effect. Beginning May 7, 2025, every air traveler 18 years of age and older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or another acceptable form of ID to fly within the United States.

What is a REAL ID?
REAL ID-compliant cards will have one of the below markings on the upper top portion of the card. If the card does not have one of these markings, it is not REAL ID compliant and will not be accepted as proof of identity to board commercial aircraft.

Where You’ll Need It

• Certain federal facilities
• Airports: Boarding federally regulated commercial aircraft
• Please note: At this time, cruise lines will not require guests to have a REAL ID, however, anyone flying at any point during their travels will need it.

• Be sure to schedule an appointment with your local DMV to get the proper identification as DMVs may experience longer wait times as the deadline approaches.

Summer vacation? A year or more ahead. Flights are available 330 days in advance - BUT resorts and cruises are open to book sometimes years ahead! Call me to get your travel plans for 2025, 2026 & 2027 in place!
