First- I want to let everyone know that I will no longer be maintaining Traveling Beer Bellies social media (instagram, facebook, threads, or Bluesky) because it did not bring me the joy I had hoped it would. However, if you still want to follow our adventures (we leave mid November to head to South America for 7 weeks!) then you can follow my personal pages (ksummahs on IG, Kristin Burke Summers on FB, or Chronically Tired Traveler on BlueSky).
Now. For the last Traveling Beer Bellies post:
We stopped at 3 breweries while in Rhode Island and here’s how they stacked up:
Narragansett- awesome atmosphere, great staff, good beer, not so great food.
Newport- atmosphere was appropriate for the area but not really our vibe but that could have just been all the rich, old, white men hanging around that made me feel that way. Beer was good, staff was nice, we only shared 1 hotdog as an app so I can’t really comment on the food other than when getting a dog, splurge for the all beef because the standard was not so great (but I’m a hotdog snob). Also, if you just had a real Chicago dog in Chicago just 3 months ago and you order a Chicago dog here you’re going to be disappointed so maybe listen to your wife when she tells you this before ordering.
Moniker- great atmosphere though a little small, we read online that they had off-street parking but if so we couldn’t find it, good beer, nice staff, they don’t serve food but usually have a food truck outside or you can bring your own.
Cheers!
