I just finished my newest Gettysburg video, and this one is all about figuring out which Auto Tour stops are actually worth your time.

There are 16 official stops, but some stood out far more than others.

In the video, I rank the 8 stops I’d actually get out of the car for, plus practical tips that can make your visit easier.

And my #1 choice was not the one I expected.

The video goes live tomorrow, Sunday, August 16, at around 6:30 PM on YouTube.

I’ll see you there.

I Need Your Help Reaching the Next YouTube Milestone.

My YouTube channel, The Long Haired Traveler, is currently in the top 25% of channels with fewer than 1,000 subscribers, and I’m incredibly proud of how far it has come. But I’m not fully monetized yet.

YouTube is changing its monetization requirements after February 1, 2027, so I have a goal: reach 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours before that deadline.

Right now, I’m at 510 subscribers and nearly 3,400 watch hours.
Close... but I still have some work to do.

That’s where you can help.
If you enjoy travel, day trips, hidden gems, and figuring out what is actually worth your time and money, subscribe to The Long Haired Traveler.

And if you really want to help, pick a few videos that interest you and binge-watch them. Watching the videos all the way through helps me build those remaining watch hours.

Every subscription and every hour watched gets me a little closer.
Thank you to everyone who has already subscribed, watched, commented, or shared one of my videos. I truly appreciate the support.

The channel link is in the comments.

Now let’s see if we can get The Long Haired Traveler to 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours!

This was a nice surprise! vidIQ says The Long Haired Traveler is now in the top 25% of YouTube creators with fewer than 1,000 subscribers based on monthly views.

That happened because more than 4,000 of you watched my videos this past month. Thank you for following along, and I’ll see you on the next adventure!

Some places get all the attention, but the best travel memories often come from the places you almost skipped.

What's one destination that completely surprised you... in a good way?

I'd love to hear your hidden gem.

This is the lazy man's travel. Not everything you do while on vacation has to be an ordeal or an adventure.

Today I visited Chimney Rock State Park. But instead of hiking to the incredible view, I took the elevator. Join me as I show you the view without breaking a sweat.
