🇺🇸 Memorial Day is a day to recognize and honor the military personnel who have dedicated their lives to defending our country.
On a carriage tour through Savannah’s historic district, you will witness and learn about many, many fallen heroes and in certain cases, their horses.
Casimir Pulaski is known as ‘The Father of The American Cavalry’ for his brilliant horsemanship in battle. Monuments across the United States often depict him riding a calm, noble steed to represent his quiet manner and proficiency.
Unfortunately he and his horse both lost their lives (alongside nearly 1,000 other soldiers) while attempting to rally forces during the Siege of Savannah in 1779. He and his horse are depicted on Savannah’s monument as falling; meeting a tragic end, but ever united.
We get it, General Pulaski, we’d do anything for our horses too. ♥️
If you’d like to spend a little bit of your Memorial Day honoring our fallen soldiers by learning their stories, join us for a historic carriage tour.
We hope to see you soon!
