🚢 Spring Boatnerd Cruise Highlights with the PRT! :-)
We had an incredible evening on the water during our Spring Boatnerd Cruise! One of the biggest moments—watching the mighty 1,000-footer Paul R. Tregurtha as we exchanged salutes in the upper harbor of Sault Ste. Marie.
Captain Gordy Garris even had a little help from our little sailor Mason Harris! He did such a wonderful job! 👏
With pizza, prizes, special guests, and plenty of freighter action, it truly was a night to remember here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

🚢 What a night for another amazing Boatnerd Cruise!
We had absolutely beautiful weather on the St. Mary’s River and an incredible lineup of freighters: starting with the Federal Delta, followed by everyone’s favorite 1,000-footer Paul R. Tregurtha, the GLMA State of Michigan, and wrapping up with the Algoma Bear!
We exchanged captain salutes, followed the PRT downriver, then turned back upriver with the Bear—locking through the MacArthur Lock while the Bear went through the Poe Lock. Nonstop action all evening!

We had the pleasure of welcoming Pellston Public Schools aboard as they experienced the thrill of meeting the mighty James R. Barker up close! This Interlake Steamship Company 1,000-footer is one of the largest vessels on the Great Lakes, and seeing her pass is always an unforgettable sight.
Watching their smiles and excitement made it clear—this was a true maritime moment of a lifetime! ✨
