Fun Fact from them “take a look at the Official City of Santa Monica Seal, look closely at the top left in the sky. Those 2 silhouettes flying into the sunset aren’t just random airplanes - they are a permanent tribute to the Douglas World Cruisers and the spirit of adventure that started right here.”

Their hours are Thursday-Sunday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

On the ground in Santa Monica, these aerial firefighting helicopters were more than machines-they were lifelines. During the Palisades fires, every minute counted, and having aircraft staged close by meant faster water drops, quicker response times, and better protection for homes and lives. Keeping the airport open isn't just about travel-it's about readiness. In emergencies like that, access to local airfields made the difference between containment and catastrophe.
