When you’re preparing for a move, it’s easy to focus on protecting what’s going onto the truck. But don’t forget about what’s underneath everyone’s feet.

Before moving day, take a look at the path your movers will use through both homes. A few simple preparations can make a big difference:
• Clear small rugs, décor, and anything that could become a trip hazard.
• Keep walkways and doorways completely unobstructed.
• Protect floors in areas where there may be heavy foot traffic.
• Move planters, umbrellas, and outdoor obstacles away from entrances.
• Keep pets safely separated from the moving activity.
