USCG vessel TERN in San Francisco Bay yesterday for Fourth of July festivities. Thank you United States Coast Guard! Special shout out to Captain Zurich it’s been a fantastic Captain at Bay Voyager so much so that he was promoted within the unit of United States Coast Guard! We all@miss you at Bay Voyager!

This weekend we took apart in a real time rescue. The wind suddenly died down out past the Golden Gate Bridge, and we came across this person attempting to swim to shore. At first, he declined our assistance to call the US Coast Guard and after I was just about to depart, I went back and told him you know it’s OK to call the Coast Guard. That’s what they’re here for and the wind is not in your favor. He didn’t ask if we could call the Coast Guard. I offered to take him on board but told him I could not take his gear and understandably he declined… Please note had the situation a bit more dire I would’ve insisted he get on board the boat and then call the Coast Guard. From the time I called the Coast Guard to the time they arrived we had drifted approximately half to 3/4 of a mile from our original location… tides and currents in San Francisco Bay are no joke. Special things to the US Coast Guard station Golden Gate for coming to the rescue. I believe there were several other kite surfers that may have experienced the same thing that day. Go USCG!!!

I was lucky enough to have an awesome father… Capt. Adrian H. Jennings. He was thoughtful. Well read, self educated, WWII veteran and captain of passengers ships that went around South America on 2 month long cruises. This photo was taken on the bridge deck of the SS Santa Maria in the Straights of Magellan (South America) in about 1975. To all gather near and far…Happy Father Day.
