EWMC LA will be hosting the first ever Local 11 Kids Costume Contest at the Second Annual IBEW 11 Justin Agulia Memorial Chili Cook — Off and Trunk or Treat.

And no, that is not a typo on the flyer; yes, the winning child will receive $100!!!

Like the chili cookoff, this is open to the children of all IBEW Brothers and Sisters, not just Local 11.

Since the price of gas and groceries and everything else keeps going up and up, with no end in sight, we decided to waive the contestant application fee for the chili cookoff.

However, we’re still asking contestants to register in advance so we know what we need to set up for.

Chili Contestants: We will provide power. We suggest bringing roughly 6-8 quarts of chili in a crockpot, enough for the judges AND for the attendees to sample your chili.

Thank you so much to everyone who got our newest challenge coin. We lowered the limit from 5 coins to 3 coins per member for this coin and we still ran out in less than an hour. We’ve already gotten a bunch of messages from people who missed out on the coin, so our Committee is discussing doing a 2nd batch.

We still have some pins left of the D4 Variant of the new Local 11 LA pin.

And for those of you who aren’t aware, we restocked our inventories of The Cause shirt, Declaration Shirt, and Flag shirt.

We would like to thank all of the Local 11 Brothers and Sisters and their families who showed up today at the annual IBEW 11 Member Appreciation Day, and supported our Welfare Committee.

Our website is back up and we have restocked a lot of shirts that we were out of, including the classic logo shirts, the cause shirt, the declaration shirt, and the flag shirt.

Also, maybe we’re delusional from heatstroke, after all, it was 100° today; but our Committee has decided that this year’s 2nd Annual IBEW 11 Justin Agulia Memorial Chili Cook-Off & Trunk Or Treat we will not be charging contestants to compete in the chili cook-off. But we are still asking that you sign up in advance so we know how many contestants we have. (Those of you who have already entered, we will refund your money.)

This Saturday is the Annual IBEW Local 11 Member Appreciation Day at Ken Malloy Park in Harbor City, and we will be releasing our newest challenge coin.

We haven’t finalized the online date for this coin and the pin we’ve previously announced; however, since we ran out of our last coin in less than a day, we’ve decided to lower the maximum amount to 3 coins per person, that way more people will have the opportunity to get one.

You might have noticed that Local 11 had a similar pin at the International Convention. Well, what you didn’t know is that there are 10 different versions of this pin; the one the Local made, and one from each Unit in Local 11.

These pins will be released during the Local 11 Membership Appreciation Day on Saturday, October 3rd, at Ken Malloy Park in Harbor City.

Did we mention the 11th mecha pin that all 10 pins will snap into? Keep an eye out for that, which will be released later in the year.
