INSTRUCTIONS/POLICIES FOR ALL REPAIRS:
No deposit required!... (on most pieces -- crazy repairs like the one pic'd at the top of the main page). No payment required if unsuccessful! And if repair is unsuccessful and conversion options are available, we can/will discuss your options thereafter. Our repair success rate thus far is almost 100%. We've only lost 2 pieces out of over 300 repaired piece
s. CONVERSIONS:
A conversion is a complete re-make of the pieces original form. For example, broken tube turned into a giant steam roller. Or the turn the base of a water piece into a jar or pen holder. It is highly not suggested on a fully functioning with no breaks piece. If you really would like to though, please keep in mind that there's a 50/50 chance of 'survival' vs. 'game over'. Our success rate on conversions is 100% out of 3.... only 2 of which were unsuccessful repairs and the other was a complete new conversion. RE: BOTH REPAIRS AND CONVERSIONS
We cannot completely predict what the glass is going to do on the repair or conversion. Neither of these are a 100%guarantee. Things can happen during the process and it can become “game over” at any time. =\ And not all repairs turn out the prettiest. but repair is successful when it functions properly again. Please keep those things in mind. In order for us to give you an estimate. We need the following:
1.) If your piece is a "mature" piece, we will need to ID verify you due to return shipping laws. Please send us a copy of your id with name, shipping address, and date of birth uncovered. Any other sensitive information may be omitted/blocked. We can quote prior to but our shipping address will not be provided until your valid I.D. is provided.
2.) Please send us pictures of your broken piece. Preferably a full size shot, a front view, and both side views -- if there is a crack around, please also include a rear pic. As well as close ups. Measurements do help a lot as well. We take measurements in millimeters and inches (no centimeter measurements please) The more pix, the more accurate the estimate. Please indicate how tall and wide your piece is -- quote is partly determined on which kiln we need to use for your piece. We will quote and give you our estimated survival rate as well. Everyone is given a 50/50 survival rate or worse.... reason being is because we will honestly tell you that there will always be that chance of 'game over' considering the unpredictability when working glass.
3.) Ship your piece to us clean!! If your piece arrives dirty, we will "return to sender" without repairing.
***4.) You must ship with "signature confirmation" We are in an unsecured location near a brewery with a lot of traffic. If signature confirmation is not required, post man will leave it on our doorstep (making it viable for stealing). We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages. We suggest USPS standard post with signature confirmation as it will be cheapest.
5.) We unwrap all packages with video rolling. If you do not pack it well, it can arrive more broken than before you shipped it. Please be sure to NOT slack fill it…. It must be packed well with lots of bubble wrap and packing peanuts/popcorn. All pieces must be packed separately. They can be in the same package but, for example, do not pack two things in the same roll of bubble wrap. And DO NOT write "fragile" on the box. From receiving so many repairs, the boxes not labeled fragile come to us undamaged. When I see the word "fragile" on the package, it's been damaged in shipment in some way or another.
6.) Upon completion, we will bill you. All s/h costs are customer's responsibility.
7.) When final payment is received, we will ship your piece back to you. You can check out our repair work here (see photo albums)
