The Horizon lumbers triumphantly back to shore at 5 PM, fishing brag sheet in hand, after an electrifying three-day fishing extravaganza that embodied the unwavering 'we're-all-crazy-for-fish' spirit with unbridled flair! We fearlessly tangled with mighty bluefin tuna on both nights, and our team of 21 passionate anglers snagged some personal best catches - a testament to the unrelenting power of fishing that transforms us all into superheroes. Captain Jodie and Captain Bill masterfully navigated our trusty vessel through the waters, while Captain Brian and Captain Pierce and Matt wrangled the deck with expertise that left us breathless, and Adam the Chef kept us fueled with delectable grub that rivaled our impressive fishing skills. We landed an astounding 33 bluefin tuna, up to 160 pounds, plus an impressive array of other fish - 116 Vermilion Red, 120 white fish, and three chunky sheep head. The rockfish were the thrilling bonus prize nobody anticipated, keeping us on our toes as we learned a valuable lesson in fishing humility. We're gearing up for our next unforgettable fishing adventure on this Friday, May 29th, departing at 10am and returning Sunday at 6am, driven by the promise of unbreakable camaraderie and fish tales that will be etched in our memories forever. Captain Jodie is at the helm, and we’re off to a hot start on our 2.5-day aboard the Horizon, sitting at 30 bluefin for the day so far and we’re still grinding. These fish are making us work for every one we hook, but the quality is there and the shots are real.

When you’re heading offshore for tuna, we recommend bringing 30–40 lb for flyline, 60–130 lb for sinker rigs or nighttime work, and a selection of 150 to 400 gram knife jigs so you’re ready for whatever shows.
