We talk a lot about the human-dog bond.
But on September 11, 2001, that bond became something much bigger.
Search-and-rescue dogs worked alongside their handlers through unimaginable conditions. Some searched for survivors. Some helped locate the lost. And therapy dogs helped bring comfort to people who were carrying grief that words couldn’t touch.
They weren’t just working dogs.
They were partners.
They were protectors.
They were a source of comfort when people needed it most.
Today, we remember the people we lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the dogs who stood beside them.
We will never forget. 🇺🇸🐾
