Last week, SamTrans had the honor of participating in the 2026 APTA Mobility Conference and International Bus Roadeo in Salt Lake City, Utah — and we couldn't be prouder of the team that represented us! 🚌

At just 24 years old, bus operator Himanshu Singh and our maintenance team of mechanics Arvin Barrozo, Xanto Barrozo, and Omar Gonzalez showed the world what SamTrans is made of. As we celebrate 50 years of serving San Mateo County, moments like this remind us of the incredible talent and passion that has always been at the heart of this agency. We are so proud to call them part of our SamTrans family. 💙

San Mateo County Transit District has launched a pilot commuter benefits program at its new Millbrae HQ, making it the first public transit provider in the Bay Area to offer Clipper BayPass as an employee benefit.

We're turning 50 and hosting a community jingle contest open to all ages and genres across San Mateo County and the Bay Area. Entries must be original compositions inspired by transit, movement, or community — and yes, instrumental tracks are welcome too! 8 finalists each win $500 and a commemorative pressed vinyl record. As of 5/14 – due to installed Caltrans traffic barriers, ECR northbound will now detour at 2nd Ave. in San Mateo, turn left on San Mateo Ave, and continue to California Dr. SamTrans is working to add additional bus stops.
