🔴🔴New carriers: NEVER give a dispatcher your credit card. 🚫💳

Here's the scam: "It's $400 a week. Just give me your card." Buried in the contract: 30 days' notice to cancel.

When you say "You're not finding me good loads," they stop working and keep charging. That's about $1,700 gone.

The better way: pay a percentage of each load, by invoice, AFTER they find you work. People who produce get paid.

Has a dispatcher ever charged you for nothing?

♦️♦️♦️How much do box truck loads actually pay?

I was a broker before I got into factoring, and I've seen box truck carriers make great money. I've also seen them go broke on cheap loads.

A few things that move the money in your favor: ✅ A 26-foot, dock-high truck with a liftgate ✅ Expedited and team loads ✅ Knowing your numbers before you say yes

I wrote down the real numbers from my years on both sides of the phone.

What's the best-paying load you've ever run in a box truck?

⚠️ FRAUD ALERT for carriers
This month we checked a broker's credit. It came back with a 97 score. Looked perfect.
Then we saw their website asking carriers for a $399 "Dedicated Lane Security Deposit."
We called the REAL brokerage. They had no idea. Someone cloned their website and was using their good name and MC number.
The credit score was real. It just belonged to the real broker, not the scammers.
👉 Real brokers pay carriers. Carriers don't pay brokers. If anyone asks you for a deposit to get loads, walk away.
Have you ever been asked to pay to get a load?

♦️New box truck owners♦️ check these 2 numbers before you buy insurance.

🟦The government only requires $750,000 in liability. But brokers won't give you a load without:
✅ $1,000,000 liability
✅ $100,000 cargo

🟦 I see it all the time. A carrier picks the cheapest quote, then the broker rejects their insurance certificate. They raise the limits and end up paying MORE than the other quotes.

🟦Get 3 quotes. Same limits on every one. I wrote out what it costs and how to get help with your down payment. Link in the comments. 👇

♦️Double Brokered Load?♦️ Here's What to Do Before You Get Scammed, and Protect Yourself🔹

♦️Bought a box truck? Don’t make this mistake.♦️

When I was a freight broker, I’d have a 24-footer on one phone and a 26-footer on the other. I gave the load to the 26 every single time, even if I had to pay more. Why? Shippers add pallets last minute. If your truck’s too small, you get a $200 TONU and lose the load.

If you’re buying, buy the 26. I wrote out the real numbers and the first 5 moves before your first load. Link in the comments. 👇

Why Customer Service Matters in Trucking - What Every Trucking Company Should Know. Running a trucking business is about more than moving freight from one place to another. Great customer service can be the difference between keeping loyal customers and losing them to your competitors. In this video, I share real experiences

For years, I thought a dispatcher's job was to make the company money.
I was wrong. A dispatcher's real job is to protect the money the company has already made. Once the load is booked, the revenue already exists.
What happens next determines whether that load stays profitable.
One missed appointment.
One misunderstanding with a broker.
One detention request that was never asked for.
One driver who isn't kept in the loop.
One problem that wasn't solved in time.
That's all it takes to turn a profitable load into a bad one.
I've seen dispatchers book average-paying freight and still make the company more money than dispatchers who booked the highest rates.
Why?
Because they communicated. They planned ahead. They solved problems before they became expensive. They protected the driver. They protected the customer. They protected the profit.
The longer I'm in this industry, the more I realize this:
The best dispatcher isn't the one who books the highest-paying load.
The best dispatcher is the one who makes sure the company keeps every dollar it already earned.

I've noticed something interesting.
About 80% of the freight we move never comes from a load board.
Around 50% comes from our dedicated lanes.
Another 30% comes from relationships we've built over the years—brokers who send us weekly projects, monthly freight, morning emails, Telegram messages, or simply pick up the phone.
Only about 20% comes from the spot market.
The interesting part?
Some of these brokers have been working with us since 2019.
That didn't happen because we booked one good load.
It happened because every load was treated as the beginning of a long-term partnership, not a one-time transaction.
So here's my advice:
When you book a load from a load board, don't just think about today's rate.
Think about how to make that broker call you directly next time.
That's where consistency, trust, and better opportunities come from.
Load boards find you loads. Relationships build your business.
