It was founded by Robert Scalise, and Franc Bianchi on the 13th of March 1953, making it currently the oldest continuously operated bar in San Antonio, Texas. It was the gathering place for the 19th Logistic Squadron of Kelly Air Force Base during the Berlin Airlift during World War II.
