If you remember visiting because you came on a field trip in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade raise your hand.

WHOA! We see you! We love to have so many field trip veterans - here's a few new things we added since you were here back in the day:

💡 $2 MILLION dollars of new lighting.
🔑 Access to three new rooms in one cavern alone.
🔈 A new sound and light show.
🤸‍♂️ A ride out on a conveyor belt.
💃 A HUGE ballroom (technically one of the three rooms, but still)
😋 Dippin' Dots. (maybe they were here, but did you get any?)

So yes, it's the same incredible, memorable cavern system. But it's also really different these days.

Once upon a time the only way you saw this part of our Hidden Wonder Cavern was during an Adventure Tour. You needed a helmet, flashlights, hiking boots, and affection for copious amounts of cave mud. Now you can stroll in as part of our Hidden Wonders Tour and watch a sound and light show created to celebrate this beautiful box canyon and the caverns all around.

Opening up access to this area was no small job, but we think it was definitely worth while. Let us know if you want to learn more about how we expanded access (note: there was lots of digging involved).

Who remembers we had a photo shoot on Sunday? ✋ 📸 Here are two of the great photos of our Hidden Wonders Cavern. This cavern is where you literally walk through thousands of formations and these two locations (our Broom Closet and Well Shaft) have the densest number of formations.

One thing we appreciate is that guests have great respect for the cave. The persistence of these formations in such great condition is a testament to both our tour guides (who keep an eye out for even accidental shenanigans) and our guests who often love our cave and believe in its protection. Come see for yourself!

True story. (Also you can join us on an adventure tour too! Just make sure to leave the wifi password with someone because there is no cell service in the wild part of the cave!)

Yes, bring things to the caverns. But the right things. It's cooler underground but we are talking 72 degrees with 99% humidity (feels like 85). Fans are how you level up. Here's our full list of stuff!
