A&K is fortunate to have the equipment alongside a knowledgeable team that can remove CWR from track and relocate the product to support other maintenance needs. Our CWR team recently completed a take-up project of 80,000LF of 115RE CWR and enjoyed the scenery in the process. The remaining right-of-way will be converted into an off-road recreational trail traversing the Kiski & Allegheny River corridor. A celebration of the trail's development was held in Gilpin, PA. on October 14th to recognize the plan for the trail. To read more about it follow the link in our bio!

A&K recently added to our existing fleet of CWR trains! This 60 pocket train is able to safely transport quarter mile strings of CWR rail; near 9 track miles or 96,000 LF of material when fully loaded!

Our team, alongside  and the TRRA, have increased welding capacity at our Granite City location to serve North America's Industries, Ports, Short Line railroads, transit authorities, and Class I railroads with continuously welded rail (CWR). This project began in 2021 and the location is now working towards delivering over 1 million feet of CWR to critical infrastructure projects. The Granite City weld plant has direct access to 6 Class I railroads via TRRA and has proven to be an advantageous location to receive 80' rails and improve cycle times of CWR rail trains.
