On April 14, 2026, KMCA held its annual Safety Award Banquet in Topeka. Ken Kejr was awarded Driver of the Month for June, and Justin Newell was named Driver of the Month for September. GPT received a Safety Award Certificate for the Truckload Carriers Division.

GPT was also named the Small Fleet Grand Prize Trophy winner for the 2nd time in company history!

This award is only possible because of the hard work everyone contributes and the value that is placed on Safety!

Thank you, drivers! Your work in the 'final mile' makes this recognition possible!

Last week, Great Plains Trucking was honored to assist Wreaths Across America for the 3rd year. Once again, two of our Veteran drivers, Scott Williamson and Chris Garrett, delivered loads of wreaths to cemeteries across KS and TX. It is a privilege to contribute to this worthwhile cause, honoring and remembering our Veteran family and friends across America. Thank you, Scott and Chris!

It was another successful trip to the KMCA Truck Driving Championship! The Great Plains Trucking team of Bill Chrisman, Justin Newell, and Bryce Goodwin won the Small Fleet Team Trophy! The competition consists of 3 parts: a written test , a Pre-Trip Inspection, and the driving test. This year the 6 obstacles were forward stop, slap hands, parallel park, right turn, scale stop and back stop.

I am proud to announce that in April, one of our very own, Bill Chrisman, was chosen as Driver of the Month for September 2024 by the Kansas Motor Carrier Association at their annual Safety Banquet!
