Eventually, the sight of huge container ships gliding up the Savannah River will become so commonplace as to warrent barely a notice. But for now, ship watchers and tourists along the riverfront are getting ready to greet the latest record-breaking container vessel.

Great news for GPA!!!

In a month that’s usually slower than most, the Georgia Ports Authority continued to move forward on all cylinders in January, recording double-digit growth across all business sectors, including a 26-percent increase in total tonnage.

What a week it's been at CIS! On Wednesday, we received the Alliance Award in Atlanta for our partnership with Georgia Ports Authority, KIA Motors and Glovis. Thursday evening we were recognized by the Cordele-Crisp Chamber as Large Business of the Year for 2016. We are so very thankful for our hard working team, the community support and industry leaders who have helped us every step of the way!

On December 1st 2011, the first intermodal train arrived in Cordele at 5am with eight (8) containers on board. CIS went on to move a total of 18 containers for the month of December.

Fast forward five years and CIS is on pace to move 100x as many loaded containers in December 2016! Thanks to everyone that made this big idea become a fantastic company that is helping drive economic growth in the state of Georgia!
