When it rolled into the shop, years of sun and exposure had left the gelcoat heavily oxidized, chalky, and tired (first photo). Red is one of the toughest colors to maintain, but with the right technique, patience, and some serious elbow grease, we completely transformed it.
After a deep multi-stage correction and polish, we pulled out a deep, rich, mirror-like reflection that you can literally see yourself in (second photo). No more chalk—just pure, high-gloss perfection.
She’s officially ready to turn some major heads out on the water this summer! 🌊☀️

This 2022 Yamaha FX Cruiser came into the shop with some nasty fiberglass damage right on the keel line (scroll to the last slide to see what we started with). The Process
Restoring a black and orange metal flake hull like this requires a multi-stage approach to pull out the oxidation without damaging the depth of the finish:
• Heavy Decontamination: Stripping away years of water spots and environmental buildup.
• Multi-Stage Correction: Compounding to level the surface and remove that "milky" haze.
• Jeweling Polish: Refining the finish to bring out that insane orange pop and high-gloss black reflection.
Why it Matters
Gelcoat is porous. When it looks dull, it’s actually "thirsty" and vulnerable to further damage. A full restoration doesn't just make it look incredible at the dock—it preserves the hull’s integrity and massive resale value.
