Saginaw, it’s your turn!

The Transportation Riders United (Support Detroit Transit) Round-the-Mitten Transit Tour is coming to town today, and Disability Network of Mid-Michigan & STARS are co-hosting a community conversation about the future of transit in our region.

📍 Hoyt Library (Public Libraries of Saginaw)
🗓 TONIGHT! June 4
⏰ 5:00–7:00 PM

We’ll begin with a short introduction to the tour and local transit efforts, followed by:

• Audience survey
• Guided discussion questions on:
• What Works?
• What Needs to Be Fixed?
• What Should Be Changed?
• Open Q&A
• 1-minute public comment opportunities
Ideas to keep the momentum going

All attendees will receive a transit map worksheet highlighting major employers, healthcare facilities, schools, grocery stores, shopping centers, and more, with space to share written feedback and ideas for improvement.

Whether you ride transit daily, occasionally, or care about mobility in our community, we want to hear from you.

STARS is joining the Round-the-Mitten Transit Tour! 🌎

Transportation Riders United (TRU) (Support Detroit Transit) is traveling more than 1,500 miles across Michigan, completely on public transit, and STARS is proud to help host the Saginaw stop!

Saginaw Community Conversation in coordination with Disability Network of Mid-Michigan

📌 Hoyt LIbrary (Public Libraries of Saginaw)

Over 14 days, the TRU team will ride 40+ buses, trains, ferries, and shuttles while visiting 18 cities and hosting community conversations about what’s working, and what needs to change, in Michigan’s transportation system.

Why this matters:
✔️ Spotlighting what works (and what doesn’t) in transit
✔️ Connecting communities to build a stronger MoveMI Transportation Alliance
✔️ Helping inform MDOT’s Intercity Bus Plan and 2050 Transportation Plan

At STARS, we know transportation is about more than getting from Point A to Point B, it’s about access to jobs, healthcare, education, and opportunity.

Looking for ways to stay on top of your health?

So thankful that the Saginaw County Health Department - SCHD will be joining us at the STARS Health & Wellness Fair next week!

Stop by their booth to receive cholesterol and glucose screenings, learn about local health and wellness resources, and connect with programs and services available throughout Saginaw County.

It's going to be a very busy summer at Mid-Michigan Children's Museum and we can get you there on Route 3!

From art & music to LEGO builds, space exploration, cooking, and science labs, MMCM Summer Camps are packed with hands-on activities all summer long.

Youth ages 16 and under can ride STARS fixed routes FREE with a Youth Pass. Kiddos under 48 inches tall just ride free, above that, passes are available through STARS.
