STARS Bus Routes, LIFT service and Rides to Wellness will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 7th, and reopen Tuesday morning.

Pigeon Express: Last bus run will be 2nd shift 11 pm pick-up only on Sunday, September 6th. The first bus run to resume work will be on Tuesday, September 8th shift 5am departure. HSC/Corning Silicon Express will run as usual without closure.

Sparkles is back! 💫🤖

A huge thank you to Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy - SASA FIRST Robotics Team Pantheon 5193 for spending their summer bringing our 1990s-era mascot back to life.

For the Pantheon 5193 team, repairing Sparkles was an opportunity to put their robotics skills to work outside of the competition floor. For STARS, it was a chance to watch a talented group of students turn their skills into something that will continue to bring joy to the Saginaw community.

But what made this partnership especially meaningful was learning how this experience and our organization fit in their bigger picture.

Pantheon 5193 believes sustainability and giving back to the community should be part of their bottom line. As Coach Lindsay Weisenbach said, STARS was a natural organization for the team to support, not only because of the economic footprint public transportation creates, but because of the broader community impact that comes from helping people get where they need to go.

We’re grateful to Pantheon 5193 for investing their time, talent, and energy back into our community.

Thank you, Pantheon 5193! We’re excited to have Sparkles back and can’t wait to see where she shows up next. 💜✨

Energy, in partnership with Communities First, Inc., is hosting Utility Assistance Day on Thursday, September 3, from 2–6 p.m. at the First Ward Community Service.

Residents can stop by for in-person assistance with utility bills and learn more about energy assistance resources. Food will also be provided, and all community members are welcome!

Getting there by public transit:
Ride STARS Route 2 to First Ward (Washington Ave).

First Ward Community Center

🎉 Celebrating Two Well-Deserved Retirements! 🎉

Today, we celebrate and congratulate two valued members of the STARS family as they begin a new chapter in retirement!

👏 Jennifer Wirrick is celebrating an incredible 30 years of service with STARS! Jennifer has been a dedicated LIFT driver and has also proudly served as our United Steelworkers Union President, advocating for and supporting her fellow employees throughout the years. Her commitment, leadership, and dedication have made a lasting impact on our STARS family and the community we serve.

🔧 Art is also celebrating his retirement after 13 years of service as a valued member of our maintenance team and mechanic. His hard work and dedication have helped keep our fleet moving and our services running safely for the community.

Please join us in congratulating Jennifer and Art on their retirements! Thank you both for the many years of hard work, dedication, and service to STARS and our riders. We wish you both all the best in retirement, you’ve certainly earned it! 💙🚌
