POV: your flight to Bottlerock turns into a mini interview at SMF 🎤🍷

A few weeks ago, we caught one traveler on his way to Bottlerock and had to ask the important questions. Also we truly believe SMF is one of the easiest airports to fly into for Napa weekends.

Our SMF Planning Team has been out in the community talking all things ✈️ future airport ✈️

We recently attended the Sac County Fair (5/21–5/25) to help people learn about the SMF Airport Master Plan and how to share feedback on what they want Sacramento’s airport to look like over the next 20 years.

Y’all really love Leap… so we’re officially starting to make SMF/Leap swag 👀

First up: keychains.
No, we’re not selling anything yet.
BUTTTT… it’s in the hopeful plans because we know how much you all love our chaotic little airport rabbit.

Now we need ideas:

What Leap merch would you actually want?
Stickers? Hoodies? Tiny airplanes? Baggage tags? Socks? Plushies?
And what other SMF art/designs would you want to see?

🎉 A big week for Nixtaco.

Yesterday, Nixtaco celebrated 10 years of serving the Sacramento region.

Today, they’re welcoming their first guests at SMF.

You’ll now find Nixtaco in Terminal B as part of a soft opening. That means the restaurant is officially open and serving travelers while the team continues training, testing systems, and putting the finishing touches on the experience ahead of a grand opening.

From their beginnings in Roseville to their newest location at SMF, we’re proud to welcome Nixtaco to the airport and give travelers another taste of what makes Sacramento special.

Congratulations on 10 years, Nix. Here’s to the next chapter. 🌮✈️

🍗 R Street favorite, meet Terminal B.

BAWK! is now open at SMF.

The restaurant is currently in its soft opening phase, which means guests can start ordering while the team continues training and settling into their new home before a grand opening celebration.

One of the best parts of our concessions refresh is bringing more Sacramento businesses into the airport, giving visitors a taste of our city before they even leave the terminal.

We’re excited to welcome the BAWK! team to SMF and can’t wait for travelers to discover why so many locals already love it.

Welcome to Terminal B. ✈️🐔

Okay but imagine if everyone who uses SMF told us the ONE thing that would make the airport even better 😭✈️

More flights?
Different food?
Parking?
More comfy spaces?
More local Sacramento stuff?
More things for kids?
More outdoor-feeling spaces without… actually being outside?
More art, music, and Sacramento personality throughout the airport?
