A tragedy on the Delta this passed summer. Please read so you are informed and understand what a menace this silent killer is -
A FEW SAFETY TIPS
- Ensure all Carbon Monoxide detectors aboard your boat are operational and turned on during your time aboard the vessel, engines running or not.
- A detector should be installed in any area that someone may fall asleep.
- Proper installation is as follows, installed no higher than waist level.
- Always be wary with swimmers near a generator or engine steadily running, commonly both placed near the swim platform.
- Also, clarify with your crew and guests the various symptoms of CO poisoning - dizziness, sudden headache, confusion, nausea, chest pain.
Authorities believe carbon monoxide poisoning may have been the cause of the deaths.
