🌄🪶 Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! ❤️

Today, we take a moment to celebrate and honor the Indigenous peoples whose history, culture, and traditions are such an important part of what makes New Mexico so special. ❤️

🏔️ Here in Ruidoso, we are especially grateful for our neighbors, the Mescalero Apache Tribe. We are fortunate to share this beautiful mountain community with people whose deep roots, rich traditions, and strong sense of family and community have helped shape this place we all call home.

🤝 We share more than neighboring communities. We share friendships, families, memories, and a love for this beautiful part of New Mexico.

🪶 Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a wonderful reminder to appreciate the generations who came before us, celebrate those carrying their traditions forward today, and recognize the importance of preserving these cultures for generations to come.

❤️ To our Mescalero Apache friends and neighbors, and to all the Pueblo, Apache, and Navajo communities throughout New Mexico, thank you. We are grateful for your friendship, your contributions, and the opportunity to live and work alongside you.

🌎 The mountains may be what make this place beautiful, but it's the people, the connections we share, and the kindness we show one another that truly make it home.

May we always lead with kindness, learn from one another, and continue building stronger communities together. 🫶

🧡 With gratitude and respect from all of us at Shuttle Ruidoso, LLC.

🚐 Kindness, Caring, & Respect.

🚔 DWI Saturation Patrol & Sobriety Checkpoints 🚔

Ruidoso, NM - The Ruidoso Police Department will be conducting sobriety checkpoints and DWI saturated patrols for the entire month of August. Officers will be looking for people driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs to reduce the number of impaired driving-related crashes and fatalities on our roadways.

Ruidoso Police Department strongly believes in the importance of saving lives through proactive strategies and encourages citizens to take an active role in their community and report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911. We need your help; if you consume alcohol or drugs, do not drive, and have a plan to get home safely.

We would like to remind everyone that impaired driving is not just from alcohol or drugs. Some prescription medications and over the counter medications can interfere with your ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, which can ultimately result in a DWI. Additionally, while recreational and medical use of ma*****na is legal in the state of New Mexico, it is still illegal to drive under the influence of ma*****na.

If you suspect another driver to be under the influence, please call 911 immediately. If you consume alcohol, plan accordingly and do not drive. Ride share apps are available in Ruidoso.
