2024 - New Safety Requirements for MAINE Powerboaters

As of January 1, 2024, a person born on or after January 1, 1999 may not operate a powerboat greater than 25 horsepower for recreational boating purposes on inland or territorial waters unless that person is 12 years of age or older and has completed a boater safety and education course. There are a few exemptions - click on the link below.

A huge thank you to the Maine Forest Service for bringing a water buffalo (a fire fighting tank trailer holding 400 gallons of water) to Louds Island this morning. We're happy to help the Maine Forest Service by providing a takeoff/landing area. Not an average day at Padebco!
