The City of Roswell's Mission Pillar Award recognizes a city employee’s efforts in exhibiting one or more of the city's core values of accountability, communication, excellence, integrity and teamwork. One award winner is selected each month from the nominations received that month.

The honoree for the April Mission Pillar Award is Freddie Lopez, the custodian for Roswell Transit.

The award nomination submitted for Freddie describes him as being “an invaluable member of the Transit Department since his first day” as “his hard work and dedication consistently go above and beyond his normal duties.” In addition to taking “great pride in keeping the Transit building clean and welcoming,” the nomination notes Freddie regularly assists with bus cleaning, maintenance tasks and helping customers when needed, while always treating “everyone with kindness and respect.”
