Words of Wisdom right there!! It’s so much more than just playing golf…… 💙⛳️🏴
This is for anyone who thinks their golf game isn't good enough to come to Scotland.
I've spent a large chunk of my life caddying people around Carnoustie. I've seen a guy shoot 67 and I've seen a guy shoot 172.
I promise you, we've seen it all.
It's a comment I see quite often. People saying they want to get a bit better before making the trip. Get their handicap down a few shots, improve their ball striking, become a better golfer.
But here's the thing. Coming to Scotland is about so much more than the golf.
It's the memories you make, the new friends, the history of it all.
The town of St Andrews is everything you hope it will be. The courses are magnificent. And there are moments you'll remember for the rest of your life.
Getting your picture taken on the Swilcan Bridge. Standing on the 18th tee at Carnoustie with that iconic hotel in the background. The views at Kingsbarns. The Postage Stamp at Troon. The sheer majesty of Turnberry.
The shots you remember. The putts you made. The ones you didn't.
The late nights in the Jigger Inn, talking about the day's golf with people who were strangers a few days before.
You'll have so much fun on your trip, and I can almost guarantee you'll wish you'd done it sooner.
I've watched thousands of golfers come here over the years. The ones who shoot 67 don't necessarily have any more fun than the ones who shoot 107.
So please, don't put off the trip of a lifetime because you think your golf isn't good enough.
Life is too short, and golf in Scotland is too good to wait.
Life is for the living.
And for those of you who have already made the trip to Scotland, tell us in the comments. Did you love it? What are your favourite memories?
The courses, the people, the pubs, the moments that have stayed with you.
Let's hear your stories and bring a bit of cheer to everyone's timelines. And who knows, you might just convince someone who's been putting it off to finally make that trip.
