Turtle Island in the Maumee Bay is visible from the Woodtick Peninsula sandbars. Named after Chief Little Turtle, briefly used by the military in 1794, and served as a navigational lighthouse from 1866-1904 before the current Toledo Harbor Light was commissioned.

It has an interesting history and is right here in our backyard.
