Stateline Mass Transit District (SMTD) Stateline Mass Transit District (SMTD) provides transit service to everyone, young and old, between South Beloit, IL and Rockford, IL. Registration is easy!

Stateline Mass Transit District (SMTD) provides dependable transit service to riders in the greater Rockton, Roscoe, and South Beloit area, including Rockton and Roscoe Townships. (SMTD provides a vital link between the Rockford and Beloit transit services areas, but does not services the Beloit area.) This is an on-call service to registered participants. Just call 877-561-3330 (TTY 815-961-0072)

and we will mail a registration form to you. Forms can also be picked up at South Beloit, Rockton, Roscoe, and Rockton Township Village Halls.

Great weather for Pelican Fest 2026 this past Saturday led to a good turnout and lots of fun had by all! If you missed it you can try again next year as it’s an annual May event that gets bigger and better every year. SMTD was “here to get you there” providing free shuttle service from downtown Rockton out to Nygren Wetlands to view pelicans and other wildlife. Hope to see you next year!
