Still Not One Inquiry. Not One. 😥

Joker is still waiting.

Ten years old.
Completely uprooted.
And not a single person has stepped forward to ask about him.

We need you. Truly.
Joker lost everything he knew at the start of this year. After a lifetime with one family, he found himself shuffled around and ultimately landing with our friends at the Herkimer County Humane Society. For a senior dog, that kind of instability is heartbreaking.

He is good with other dogs.
He bonds deeply to his person.
He just wants to feel safe again.

Yes, he has some separation anxiety — wouldn’t you, if your whole world disappeared overnight? He would thrive with someone retired or working from home, someone who understands that seniors don’t need perfection… they need patience.

A kennel is not where his story should end.

But here is the reality:
We cannot pull him without a committed foster or adopter. Our rescue is beyond full, and every commitment we make has to be responsible and sustainable.

If you are serious about helping Joker, please apply today at:

📍 Local to Mohawk, NY? Please go meet him!
📝 Ready to foster or adopt? Submit your application now.
📣 Not in a position to take him? Please share far and wide.

We are trying to get another senior home. We just need someone to say yes.

Don’t let Joker become invisible.
He deserves his soft landing. 🤍🐾

🚨 SHELTER CRISIS — 158+ DOGS AND COUNTING 🚨
💔 Apollo Is Breaking Down After Months Inside 💔

📍 Currently in Alabama – transport available to approved homes in many states
💌 Apply: www.rthrs.com

Apollo has been sitting in the shelter for months… and it’s starting to take a heartbreaking toll. This handsome 55-pound, 3-year-old sweetheart came in bright, hopeful, and full of life — but the stress of the shelter is wearing him down.

He’s now developing painful lick granulomas from anxiety and confinement. No dog should have to deteriorate like this. 💔

Apollo is also deaf, but he doesn’t let that slow him down. He has plenty of energy and is an absolute love bug with everyone he meets. He loves other dogs and is non-reactive to cats — he’s truly the easiest boy to love. 🐾

With the cutest ears and the friendliest personality, he truly is the whole package. He is heartworm positive, and Road to Home will help raise the funds for his treatment once he’s safe.

Apollo does not belong in a loud, overcrowded shelter. He needs a foster or adopter who can give him warmth, consistency, and a chance to heal both emotionally and physically.

Dogs like Apollo don’t have much time left when shelters are overflowing. Please don’t scroll past him. He’s been overlooked long enough.

Let’s get this beautiful boy out before his spirit fades entirely. ❤️

UPDATE: Adopted from shelter ❤️ wishing you the best life sweet Bear!

🚨 Time Is Running Out for Bear 🚨

📍 Located in Alabama – transport available to many states
💌 Apply to Foster or Adopt: www.rthrs.com

Meet Bear — a 6-year-old, 70-pound bundle of love who’s been waiting over 4 months in an overcrowded Alabama shelter. He came in as a stray, and somehow, no one has shown him any interest. 💔

Bear is everything you could want in a best friend — super sweet, great with other dogs, and non-reactive when cat tested. He loves to play, but would be just as happy being your couch potato, soaking up belly rubs and b***y scratches.

Sadly, the longer Bear stays, the more at risk he becomes. He deserves so much more than a kennel. Please don’t let him be forgotten. 💔

💔 URGENT UPDATE FOR DESI 💔

Our brave girl Desi has suffered a frightening setback. She’s been recovering beautifully from her recent surgery and doing so well — until a few days ago, when she suddenly became lethargic and stopped eating. On Saturday, she was rushed to the emergency hospital, where tests revealed her platelets were at zero and her red blood cell count was dangerously low.

She was immediately admitted and placed on strong immunosuppressant drugs and antibiotics. Today, Desi will be transferred to Internal Medicine, where specialists will determine next steps. Given her history with cancer, she will most likely need a bone marrow aspirate to uncover what’s causing this sudden decline. 💔

Desi is part of our Forever Foster Program, which ensures dogs with chronic or terminal conditions receive lifelong medical care and love. She’s been thriving with her wonderful mom, Susan — and we are determined to give her as much time and comfort as possible. ❤️

But this unexpected hospitalization will exceed $10,000, and as many of you know, our intake has been closed for months due to overwhelming medical expenses, and we are very clise to closing our doors for good. We need your help now more than ever to continue standing by Desi and others like her.

💔🐾 Bean Deserves Better… 🐾💔

📍Location: Long Island, NY

📩 Apply at: www.rthrs.com

Our sweet Bean is back in boarding — and why? Because his adopters didn’t listen. 😔

So often people don’t realize that when we take the time to explain how to set up a rescue dog for success, those aren’t just empty words. We do it because we know these dogs — their needs, their triggers, their best chances at thriving. But even with the guidance of our volunteers and trainer, his adopters did what they wanted… and just like that, it was over. 💔

When our volunteer went to pick him up, he was overjoyed to see him — tail wagging, heart full. But as they approached the boarding facility, he cried and cried, not understanding what he did wrong. 💔 That sound broke us.

Bean is an incredible boy — about 3 years old, 50 lbs, and a Lab mix with endless love, energy, and sloppy kisses to give. 🐶❤️ He does have some separation anxiety when someone leaves the home, but our wonderful trainer will continue to work with his next family to help guide them through this.

He’s good with other dogs and cats, though a younger dog who can keep up with his play style would be best. We also are saying no young children as due to his energy levels we do not want a little one to get hurt. Whoever welcomes Bean into their heart and home will need patience, understanding, and time to let him decompress — over 6 weeks in boarding is a long time for any dog.

💌 If you’re ready to give Bean the chance he’s been waiting for — a true forever — please reach out. Let’s not fail him again. 🙏
