Toyota does an excellent job of stamping its logo onto its catalytic converters. They have two logos; one is the traditional Toyota logo we see in the states the other is the Japanese logo.

They are some of the most common serial numbers we quote at RRCats.com. The Toyota Cats have a variety of serial numbers that are important for quoting for scrap.

The US has made catalytic converters mandatory on every car since 1975. Catalytic converters are the part of the car’s exhaust system that cleans the harmful emissions from your car’s engine before the exhaust is released into the air.

Understanding how to scrap catalytic converters is a feat in itself, but understanding how they work when connected to your car is a completely different challenge.

Their serial codes could be 3-5 characters long, and that makes it much easier to find and get quotes. One thing to look out for is that many of the serial codes are on the outside shield of the catalytic converter, and that shield is easily removable.

They like having 9-14 digit serial codes that are usually broken into three parts. These different parts could confuse you when finding the correct code, so we ask you to send all the parts on the cat to help expedite quoting.

Ford Catalytic Converters have a specific serial number format. The RRCats share common numbers and how they are price quoted for scrap.

Because Aston Martins are owned by the Ford Motor Company, the serial numbers and structure of them are going to be very similar. The Aston Martin Catalytic Converters have very similar serial numbers as Ford, the format will be ###X-###XX-XX. i.e. Example: 6G33-5e213-DA

Many of the catalytic converters off of Volvo’s have “two” cats, even though they look like one unit (see picture above). The smaller part is the pre-cat, and the larger is the main cat, but they are priced as one unit based on recovery tables and values.
