Ever wonder why it feels like your bags take “forever” to arrive at Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport?

Here’s the funny thing…they usually don’t.

At major airports, you might walk 15-25 minutes from your gate to baggage claim, ride two escalators, hop on a train, and somehow your bags magically appear right as you get there.

At RKS? You can see baggage claim from the gate. By the time you’ve walked across the terminal, your bags are still making their way off the aircraft and through the normal unloading process.

The airline industry standard, at airports of ALL sizes, is:

🧳 First bag delivered within 12-15 minutes of aircraft arrival at the gate
🧳 All bags delivered within 25 minutes

Our airline team meets those standards very frequently, with only rare delays usually tied to unexpected staffing issues or operational challenges.

So while it may feel longer here, it’s actually operating on the same timelines you’d experience anywhere else…you’re just skipping the marathon walk through another terminal the size of Sweetwater County. 😄

And honestly, we think there advantages to a few extra minutes in our terminal:

✔️ Catching up with family and friends waiting for you or with neighbors you know from around town

Interest in aviation is contagious and with this great new program, our community's youth can learn more! Aviation is an industry full of amazing career opportunities for kids to explore. This is one great way to start that process!

Summer Opportunity for Incoming 7th–12th Grade Students

Rock Springs High School is offering an exciting Aerospace Team Summer Program this summer, and junior high students are invited to participate.

This program is open to students entering 7th through 12th grade and will focus on:

Drones
Simulator Flying

The program will take place Monday through Thursday, June 22–July 23, from 9:00 AM to noon at Rock Springs High School.

For those that don't like the trains between the passenger concourses at DIA/DEN...relief is on the way!

You asked, we listened - pedestrian walkways are coming to DEN, plus you can see what’s really in the tunnels. 👀

In partnership with the airlines at DEN, we’re building walkways through our underground tunnels connecting Concourses A to B and B to C, with construction expected to begin in 2027.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

It has recently been brought to our attention that a very limited number of parking customers are noticing a duplicate charge for their parking when reviewing their bank/credit card account. This is an issue on the credit card processor (Ayden) end.

We have reviewed every credit card transaction dating back to March 1st and found a total of 10 instances of this occurring beginning on March 26th and running through yesterday (May 18th). The duplicate charge in each of these instances has been refunded as of this afternoon. It should arrive in your account within 2-3 days.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused our customers. We have been in contact with Ayden and they are working to identify the issue and implement a fix. In the meantime, we will actively monitor transactions each day and if needed, refund any duplicate charges that occur.

If you believe you have been charged twice for the same parking stay and have not received a refund by the end of this week, please reach out to us at 307-352-6880 x101 or x102. We will make it right!

We want to remind all passengers that fi****ms are strictly prohibited inside the TSA Checkpoint and may not be transported in carry-on bags.

We encourage all passengers to avoid inconvenient and costly mistakes by becoming familiar with TSA’s rules and security requirements prior to arriving at the terminal. In today's "Good/Great of Sweetwater County" post, we highlight our neighbors (by Wyoming definition), Simplot Phosphates and the work they did on the Belt Loop. Picking up trash in our community is one of the easiest ways to give back and help make our community even better than it already is.
