๐ข YES, WRTA Tracks Ridership Data ๐๐
We recently received a question about whether WRTA tracks ridership by community, time of day, and service area.
The answer is simple: yes, we do. โ
WRTA tracks and reports ridership, service utilization, and operational data as part of our ongoing compliance with state and federal transportation requirements. That data helps ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible use of public funds.
And just as importantly, the public is ENTITLED to that information. If members of the public would like to see ridership data, service trends, or community-level transportation information, WRTA is happy to help provide that information through the appropriate public records process.
We also recognize that we could do more to share these statistics in a way that is easy to understand and useful to the community. If there is public interest, WRTA would certainly be open to featuring more regular ridership updates through our marketing and public outreach, such as monthly service snapshots, community ridership highlights, or year-over-year trends. ๐
Public transportation works best when the community understands how it is being used, who it is serving, and how local support helps bring additional transportation dollars into Fremont County.
WRTA remains committed to transparency, accountability, and showing the real value public transportation brings to the people, employers, and communities we serve.
