In 2024, Fremont County tourism generated $175.7 million in traveler spending, supported 1,550 jobs, and produced $9.5 million in state and local taxes. Over 517,000 visitors stayed more than 1.1 million “lodging” nights. Thanks to all the folks that were a part of making this happen - it was not accidental and it was not without a lot of effort from many disciplines. But it is crucial to the economic health and well-being of Fremont County. It’s all part of what helped us overreach a record-breaking 25,000 enplanements in 2025 at CWRA this past year.

Thank goodness for snow in the mountains!

It has certainly been drier and warmer than normal so far this winter, however all is not lost. Here is the latest Snow Water Equivalent (SWE) map from NRCS. Notably the basins for the western part of the state are near normal, while most of the rest of the state are below normal.

CWRA hit more than 25,000 enplanements in 2025. WooHoo! Now you may ask, what exactly is an enplanement? Is it 25,000 people that used our United/Skywest partnership to travel the nation? mmmm, not really. “Enplanements” is a common measurement to the airline industry that counts the number of times a person paid the get on a flight, boarded that flight, and flew (in this case from our Riverton airport) to someplace else (in this case Denver). Now the reality is, for every individual person that flies out, a person generally flies in, so you might double the enplanement number to count individual personal flights. But that would be something different. Also, those enplanements don’t include people that don’t pay to fly - like the pilot, co-pilot, flight attendant or any other staff on board that didn’t buy a ticket. Over the course of the year, that would increase enplanements by more than 1,000. And what about that “more than” tagged onto the enplanement number - well, the actual number is 25,775 - so definitely more than 25,000. So counting enplanements vs. any thing else, is really a pretty conservative approach to measuring the impact of CWRA air service, but we think that’s ok. Thanks to our partnership with United and SkyWest, more than 25,000 (enplanements) personal flights were made out of our Fremont County airport in 2025. That’s a big number. Thanks to everybody - all the parts and pieces - that helped us grow to serve Fremont County in this capacity. The video link here tells our Wyoming story.

I’m a sucker for any video that promotes Wyoming that shows our beautiful scenery, big open spaces and rugged outdoor lifestyle. This one (see the link below) does that, while telling the story about local air service for all of Wyoming. It showcases some of our friends and major industries… L&H Industrial, Jonah, Buff Bill Museum, and my fav, Corte McGuffy repping both BTI and our new hospital. But I think a really important connection the video makes, is how our incredible lifestyle is tied to these industries. I think its a mistake to take them, or their business needs, for granted. Ya gotta love Wyoming in this video!
