Andre Miller says he gave away $300,000 in cash to family and friends after signing a $51,000,000 contract with the Denver Nuggets:
“I get a contract. I had a party. Sacramento house party. Got a new house. Invite family and friends up. And I actually went to the bank and got out $300,000. It’s the truth. This is my therapy. Cash. When I say family, my great grandparents had 18, 20 kids.
Everybody showed up at the house and I passed out all that bread. That’s when I knew I was tripping. I gave it all away. I came back everybody got diamond earrings in their ear, and I only took a nap for two hours. That money was gone. I handed that… envelopes with names on them.
When they left, my pool was black. When they left my party I had to get a whole new pool. My pool was black and I gave away $300,000 in cash."
