Actually, we're a little more than halfway there.
58 new donors have joined our challenge, which means we only need 42 more people to reach 100.
So I have a question:
Why aren't you donating to Vallarta Cares?
Seriously. I want to know.
And while you think about your answer, let me give you 5 reasons why I think you should. 😏
1. We believe in transparency.
We want you to know where your money goes, what we're doing with it, and what your support actually makes possible. Your trust matters just as much as your donation.
2. We're constantly trying to get better at this.
We're professionalizing our organization, improving our systems, learning better and more ethical ways to fundraise, diversifying where our funding comes from, and trying to build something sustainable instead of simply surviving from fundraiser to fundraiser.
3. We know the people we're helping.
We register our beneficiaries, learn about their circumstances and assess their needs. Resources are limited, so we take seriously the responsibility of making sure help reaches the people who genuinely need it.
4. We're here.
Not just when there's a hurricane. Not just when there's a flood. Not just when there's a fundraising campaign.
We're here for the meals, the groceries, the medical appointments, the dental care, the person who walks through our door not knowing where else to go—and yes, we're here when the emergency happens too.
5. We're building Vallarta Cares to last.
This one matters enormously to me.
Vallarta Cares isn't mine. And I don't want it to depend on me, my husband, one big donor or one successful fundraiser.
I want to help build an organization that will still be here years from now, serving this community when none of us currently leading it are around anymore.

No minimum donation. You don't have to give a lot. You just have to decide that keeping this work here matters to you too.
