On the way to the Overland Expo® in Colorado!

We’re bringing back some of our favorite classes on mobility, slacklining, travel, and life on the road, PLUS two brand new topics we’re especially excited to share.

✈️ NEW: Turn Miles Into Flights!
How to use your credit cards for free-ish travel.

We’ll break down how we use credit card points and miles to make travel more affordable, including strategies we actually use while living and traveling on the road.

🙋🏽‍♀️ NEW: Traveling While Brown
Navigating safety and security on the road.

Travel can look very different depending on who you are and where you’re going. We’ll share our experiences traveling across the US and internationally, the situations we think about differently, and the strategies we use to stay aware, prepared, and still keep exploring.

The has never been a project. It's been an experiment.

For the past nine years we've tested ideas, broken things, redesigned systems, and shared what we've learned with the overlanding community.

This van isn't trying to be perfect.

It's trying to answer one question:

How much adventure can you fit into 66 square feet?

The SlackerVan has never been a project. It's been an experiment.

For the past nine years we've tested ideas, broken things, redesigned systems, and shared what we've learned with the delica community.

This van isn't trying to be perfect.

It's trying to answer one question:
How much adventure can you fit into 66 square feet?
And we're still seeking the answer.

We’ve been having a blast at Overland Expo this summer. Meeting extraordinary travelers and adventurers has completely re-inspired us to get the back on the road.

One of those people is the legendary Patty Upton TNT-Tried n True.

Patty and her late husband, Loren, earned a Guinness World Record for completing the first all-land crossing of the Darién Gap by a single motor vehicle. It took them 741 days to travel just 125 miles through the roadless jungle in their 1966 Jeep CJ-5, the Sand Ship Discovery Patty Upton

And apparently once wasn’t enough! They later returned and crossed the Darién Gap again on a two-wheel-drive Rokon motorcycle!

You can learn more about their first crossing in Patty’s book “Road’s End to Road’s End: The Epic Voyage of the Sand Ship Discovery”.

Or, even better, come meet Patty and many other incredible travelers in person at Overland Expo®. The vehicles may bring us together, but it’s the people and their stories that keep inspiring us to explore farther.

We’ll be at Overland Expo Mountain West in Loveland, CO! August 21–23

We’ll be teaching Slackline Yoga, chair Yoga and sharing our many tips and tricks for life on the road in a tiny old vehicle.

The SlackerVan may not be quite as tiny or as old as the Sand Ship Discovery, but we hope it proves to be half as mighty!

Staying clean and organized in a tiny home on wheels takes constant effort. The smaller the space, the faster it gets messy. Therefore, the more intentional you have to be about every little system.

One of our favorite van life hacks? ✂️
Cutting a Scott Shop Towel into thirds.

They last much longer than regular paper towels, don’t leave little bits of lint everywhere, and help us use less with each cleanup. It’s a small change, but when you live in just 66 square feet, the little things add up.

We’re always looking for ways to keep the van tidy while creating less waste. What do you think about this hack?

Would you give this a try?
Or do you have another cleaning hack we should try?

Fall is just around the corner… what are your winter plans? 🍂

Ours include hosting our YogaSlackers retreat in Thailand, spending time exploring Asia, and beginning to plan a future drive to Brazil in the .

Adventures are already on the calendar yet Others begin as a conversation, a map, and a slightly unreasonable or even ridiculous idea.

Where will winter take you?

Living space 28 sq ft nearly tripled to 66 sq ft, Ford Festiva vs Mitsubishi Delica L300

The taught us that you don't need much space to live an extraordinary life.

Over a decade of living, working, teaching, and traveling out of just 28 square feet, we learned exactly what mattered—and, more importantly, what didn't.

The isn't about having a bigger daily driver/home/office/garage. It's about applying everything we learned to create a more efficient adventure machine.

Every millimeter has a purpose. Every system earns its place. The goal isn't comfort for comfort's sake...it's maximizing our ability to explore farther, stay out longer, and say "yes" to more adventures.

Small spaces don't limit adventure. They challenge you to design a life around what truly matters.
