Our Mystery Tour has brought us to Hildene, The Robert Todd Lincoln home. Then it was off to the Adirondacks where we are enjoying a 3 night stay in downtown Lake Placid. We had a special guest last night, Gordy Sheer. Gordy is a 1998 Olympic medalist in the luge. It was fascinating to talk with him and learn all about the intense sport. Our second day was filled with history. Our luncheon cruise on Racquet Lake showed us beautiful camps and summer homes, many from the guided age. Then it was over to Great Camp Sagamore, once the summer camp of a Vanderbilt.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of the incomparable Dolly Parton. Dolly brought so much joy into our lives through her music and movies, but perhaps her greatest legacy is the way she lived—with kindness, generosity, compassion, and a belief that we can all do our part to love and care for one another, no matter our differences.

Over the years, we have been fortunate to bring many of our travelers to Dolly’s beloved Tennessee—visiting her hometown, staying at her beautiful properties, and experiencing the magic of Dollywood. These visits will now hold an even more special place in our hearts.

Dolly was truly one of a kind. Her music will continue to make us smile, her generosity will continue to inspire us, and her example will remind us that a little kindness can make a very big difference.

Thank you for the music, the laughter, the memories, and most of all, the love. You will always be loved, Dolly. ❤️

Our tour continued to Ketchikan where we took a walking tour through town to Creek Street. The salmon were fascinating to watch as they were at the end of their long journey. Watching them climb the ladder or try tirelessly to make it up the falls to spawn was incredible. We then all went on the Bering Sea Crab Boat, from The Deadliest Catch. We watched pods of killer whales, fed the eagles and of course got up close and personal with lots of sea life. What an awesome experience to share with fellow travelers and new friends.

Today the Capitol of Alaska, Juneau. Plenty to do here for a small town. Surrounded by glaciers it’s a great place to take a sea plane ride or a helicopter ride over the ice fields. Also available is a fly in lunch at a historic lodge. Fresh salmon caught right in the river smoked over a fire absolutely an amazing experience. Others went on whale watches or just enjoyed a drink with some local music at the famous red dog saloon.

We were so fortunate to visit Glacier Bay National Park. We sailed into calm turquoise waters throughout the park. 3 magnificent glaciers, saw rafts of sea Otters, seals, humpback whales and orcas. Today our day was spent in Skagway learning about the gold rush!
