1 MONTH AWAY đ Hard to believe, but the 2026 Hurricane Season is coming up on June 1st. The current early outlook is for the number of storms to be below average or near average. Colorado State University is calling for 13 storms, 6 hurricanes and 2 major hurricanes.
Long-range models are showing that we have will have a strengthening El NiĂąo, potentially strong, by the peak of the season. Historically, if that occurs, that would create higher wind shear across the Tropical Atlantic and CaribbeanâŚhelping to suppress or lower tropical activity. That doesnât mean, however, you canât have major hurricanes or US landfalls. Remember, itâs about impact, not just the number of storms.
Although I wonât be on TV this hurricane season, that doesnât mean I wonât be with you. Iâll be able to provide even more updates than ever before on multiple online and digital platforms. You can always trust me to be with you every step of the way all season long 24/7 with no hype, just the facts!
