Loading from a rail car by vacuum. You have to keep the hose up off of the ground. If there is a separation in the hose it could suck sand or small stones in to the load. It could also suck water into the hose.

We load from ā€œsuper sacksā€ on a regular basis. For the most part you untie the spout on the bottom of the bag and drop the material in a hopper then vacuum load it into your tank. So if the bags are 2,000 pounds and the order only requires 1/2 of a bag to fill out the order, how do you do a half bag? There is a device some people call it a ā€œspikeā€, it allows a bag to be part loaded and part held for later.
You set the spike on the floor or a sheet of cardboard like we did here. Then locate the super sack over the spike and lower it. This drives the spike into the bag and allows you to stop the flow of material with a gate valve that is part of the spike. So we loaded about 1,000 pounds into the tank and the remainder went into a box to go on the next order. Easy cheesy.

Starting up to load from a silo. We are using a 5ā€ hose to load this. It speeds things up, letā€™s you move a little more material than the 4ā€ hoses.

We always have an inspection of the tank prior to loading. You have to be sure the tank isnā€™t wet, or has other plastics, or foreign mater or objects(bolts, gloves, a pair of glasses, or a dead bird) all of which we have found over the years.
This customer takes the inspection process to another level. They take down the lower product line for inspection.
The tank is still wet from being washed so we are circulating air thru it with the blower. As wet as it is outside today makes it a little harder to dry. You have to restrict the air flow thru the tank to build heat with the compressed air.

Redline Services has an opening for a full time CDL Class A driver. Vac tank experience preferred but not required. No tank endorsement required. We prefer from the Evansville/ Princeton Indiana area but will consider others.

Redline is recovering another derailment. The rail car isnā€™t totally destroyed this time. Normally the rail car looks like it was hit by a bomb. The bottom valves are damaged so we are loading from the top.
