I had lots of fun finishing this parquet flooring with a 1-coat maintence coat at the Social Hall at the Village at Lynx Creek in Dewey, Arizona. It’s Polo1-K matte finish.

1. “We even have our snooty finishes for the very rich!”

Or . . .

2. “We cheat the other guy and pass the savings on to YOU!”

Which one would you use for a slogan?

This is a close-up shot of Quarter-Sawn white oak flooring where I've jointed it to ceramic tile. It's finished with a European penetrating oil which has been used in Germany for about 60 years. Very durable and affordable.

I acted as witness for the defense in a case whereby the home owner was given an installation of such cheap, engineered flooring. The filler used was so poorly matched to the wood that even I cringed. Remember that engineered, pre-finished flooring shows no craftsmanship. Here’s a picture of how bad the flooring filler looked in the knots. Would any of you accept this floor covering?

White oak is slightly harder than red oak. Plus . . . It lends itself better to being stained than red oak.
